Orange Beach

The City of Orange Beach will have Fireworks on July 3rd - 9:00PM
Fireworks one again will be in cooperation with the Perdido Beach Resort
You'll be able to see them from the beach or across the water at  Tacky Jack's or the beaches at Alabama Point & Florida Point.

Gulf Shores

The City of Gulf Shores will celebrate the Fourth of July with a big fireworks display starting at 9 p.m. on July 4th. If you tune in to local radio station Sunny 105.7 you'll be able to hear patriotic music to accompany the fireworks show. In case of a delay or bad weather cancellation of the Fireworks Show, Sunny 105.7 will have that information too. The Fireworks can be viewed from any Gulf Shores area beach. The Fireworks will be launched from a barge in the Gulf of Mexico just south of Gulf Place, where Hwy 59 meets the Gulf. For safety sake, no boats or personal watercraft will be allowed in the surrounding area. In case of bad weather, the Fireworks will take place the next night, July 5th.

The Orange Beach Billfish Classic

The 2009 tournament will be held July 29th through August 2rd. Come join the fun and at the same time support the organizations that are all about sport fishing.The Orange beach Billfish Classic, established in 1997, is a NON-PROFIT, RELEASE ONLY BILLFISH tournament that gives 100% of its proceeds to those organizations that represent the voice of the sport fisherman and speak out and lobby effectively for the conservation, preservation and enhancement of the billfish and all saltwater game fish species. Since 2009, the OBBC has given over $400,000 to The Billfish Foundation and Coastal Conservation Association.

Fort Morgan Peninsula is a 22 mile strip of lush semi-tropical beach paradise in the Gulf Shores, Alabama area along the coastline of the Gulf of Mexico. Part of the Fort Morgan Peninsula is in the Gulf Shores city limits and a great deal of it is designated as Bon Secour Wildlife Reserve. The historic Ft. This entire area is known for the outstanding opportunities for bird watching. There are some very nice walking and bicycling trails on Ft. Morgan Road.

Fort Morgan, a United States seacoast defense fort on Mobile Point, exhibits the evolution of American coast defense fortifications from 1834 through World War II. The on site museum's collection includes artillery pieces, military uniforms, small arms, accoutrements, and memorabilia from the 19th century through World War II. Archival collections contain many original photographs, manuscripts, and documents. Special programs include a living history encampment the first weekend in August. At various times during the year, War Between the States reenactments take place on the grounds of Ft. Morgan.
